In 2017, Leidos had a problem.   As the acquisition of LMC IS&GS closed, the Information Technology Services group within the new organization was challenged to do deploy 5,000 devices to the IS&GS employees moved over to Leidos.   Without a deployment plan, facility to perform deployment services or the ability to scale to quickly deploy that volume of assets, Leidos turned to COLAMCO.   As fiscal year budgets were closing, Leidos needed to purchase the assets to avoid a budget shortfall.    In a matter of a few short weeks, COLAMCO worked with Leidos to identify a mutually agreeable deployment process, acquired the Dell devices by year end and provided invoicing to recognize the revenue before it was lost.

At the start of 2018, COLAMCO began deploying laptops, docking stations and other accessories to Leidos end users.   Services included PC imaging, asset tagging, asset management recording and shipping.     The project successfully completed in 2019 when the last of the 5,000 devices were deployed to Leidos users.

  • Ability to scale up services and capacity when the OEM (Dell) and Leidos were unable to do so in the time required
  • Rapidly implemented deployment services within weeks which included image installation and asset tagging
  • Our ability to kit 3rd party devices at the time of deployment provided Leidos users a better PC provisioning experience
  • Our work was recognized and secured COLAMCO as a Leidos’ preferred IT provider.  COLAMCO remains one of the largest IT providers to Leidos today.
