About the HighPoint RocketU 1144x RU1144F
The RocketU 1144F is the industry's fastest 4-Port 5Gb/s USB controller card and is powered by our proven per-port-performance architecture. Each of the four independent USB 3.2 5Gb/s device ports features a dedicated 5Gb/s controller, and is backed by a PCIe 3.0 x4 host interface. The RocketU 1144F is optimized for USB 3.x storage devices and peripherals, and is well suited for a wide-range of applications including portable/removable storage, storage expansion, personal media libraries and backup solutions.
Direct Replacement & Performance Upgrade: Although the RocketU 1144F is a direct upgrade for the RocketU 1144D USB 3.0 PCIe 2.0 x4 HBA, it doubles the available PCIe bandwidth to USB 3.0 x4. This is ideal for applications that require support for up to four SATA SSDs via a USB 3.1/3.2 drive enclosure; each SSD will be able to operate at full speed, simultaneously.
Type A USB Connectors for Maximum Compatibility
The RocketU 1144x Series utilizes USB Type-A connectors for maximum compatibility with all industry-standard USB 2.0, 3.0, 3.2 peripherals including printers and scanners, storage, card readers and interface devices.
Unleash the Performance Potential of USB Storage
Unlike conventional USB cards that are best used as simple device hubs, RocketU HBA's are uniquely suited for high-speed USB 3.2 storage configurations. With dedicated 5Gb/s per-port performance, also ideal for a variety of external storage configurations including multi-drive bays, RAID enclosures, and external SSD's.
UAS Performance Boost
RocketU HBA's can deliver even higher levels of performance when paired with UAS capable storage devices, such as RocketStor USB 3.x Storage Docks. The speed and efficiency advantages provided by UAS technology are ideal for multi-tasking and performance-hungry applications.
UAS (USB Attached SCSI) is a computer protocol that is used to transfer data to and from USB storage devices. UAS is dependent on the USB protocol, and utilizes the standard SCSI command set.
Unlike the slower queue system of BOT (Bulk Only Transport), which only provides single-task commands; each task must complete before the next begins, UAS offers maximized bandwidth utilization, and can handle multiple data transfer requests simultaneously. As a result, USB 3.x connections working in UASP mode result in higher transfer speeds and lower CPU utilization. UAS clears data queues faster, which results in smoother-operating PC's.
