The Silhouette Alta® Plus is an upgraded version of Silhouette’s first 3D printer, the original Alta.

The main differences between the Alta and Alta Plus is that the Alta Plus has a built-in fan, has updated turn screws on the delta arms that hold the printer head which allows for calibration by hand, and it has an updated printer head providing an easier method to remove and replace heating element!

Silhouette ALTA 3D Printer

The Silhouette Alta is an easy-to-use 3D printer. It can create models out of PLA plastic filament (1.75 mm) and is great for a variety of customized projects.

The Silhouette Alta® can print at a maximum speed of 80 millimeters (mm) per second. The maximum printing area is 124 mm in diameter and 130 mm tall, which is about 5 inches around and 5 inches tall. Layer height can range from 0.05 mm to 0.5 mm with a minimum layer height of 0.05 mm.

3D Designs

Silhouette America®offers 25 free designs with the purchase of the Silhouette Alta® machine. Once the machine is received and registered, these designs are automatically added to your account and can be found under the Free with Machine folder in the Silhouete 3D software library.

Filament

The Silhouette Alta® 3D printer uses a PLA plastic filament material. Once loaded, the print head heats the filament to a temperature of 180°C - 230°C (356°F - 446°F) which softens the filament allowing it to feed through the print head and create your project, layer by layer. 

The Silhouette Alta® machine comes with a sample of white filament to get started. You may also purchase a larger roll of filament on our website, currently offered in the following colors: black, white, red, yellow, green, blue, and pink. A 500 gram spool of filament can be purchased here.

SILHOUETTE PORTRAIT 2 Electronic Cutting Machine

 

The Silhouette Portrait 2 is an electronic cutting machine for personal use. Like a home printer, it plugs into your PC or Mac® with a simple USB cable. However, instead of printing, it uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric, and other material up to 8 inches wide and 10 feet long.

The Silhouette Portrait® 2 features Bluetooth® technology (US, Canada, EU only) and is compatible with Silhouette's new AutoBlade. The machine also has the ability to register and cut printed materials and is PixScan™ compatible. The Silhouette Portrait® 2 also has a higher 2 mm clearance, so it is compatible with the deep-cut blade.

I am having alot of fun learning all about this machine. It is a bit noisy, but I must say that I am now addicted to vinyl projects using this machine. I can't wait to see what else it can do.

Mint

SILHOUETTE MINT

With the Silhouette Mint™, you can make custom stamps quickly and easily. You can turn any design or photo into a full-color, reusable stamp.

Mint Inks

The Mint is different than a traditional stamp that requires an ink pad. In fact, you're not using a pad at all. The Silhouette Mint™ uses 5 ml bottles of ink applied directly to your stamp. The stamp will then absorb the ink, enabling it to stamp approximately 50 images before the stamp dries up. After that, just add a few more drops of ink and you're ready to go again. Each 5 ml ink bottle has enough ink for hundreds of projects and thousands of stamps.

Thermal Printing

The Mint uses thermal printing to create 3D reliefs of your design, making even the most intricate details visible. You can turn almost any design in the Design Store into a custom stamp. It even works with photos, too!
